Application Hub and Packets

Updated yesterday

The Application Hub is where you manage everything related to submitting job applications. For each role you want to apply to, you can generate a tailored resume, a cover letter, and a follow-up email template — all bundled together in one place..

What's an Application Packet?

An Application Packet is a set of personalized materials tied to a single job. When you create one, Huntr automatically generates three documents:

A tailored resume — a job-specific copy of your base resume, fully editable in the Resume Builder.

A cover letter — a complete draft built from your professional background and the job description.

An application follow-up — a ready-to-use email template for after you apply.

Each packet stays linked to its job so everything stays organized as your search grows.

Getting Started: Your First Application Packet

  1. Save jobs: Use our Job Tracker or Chrome Extension to save all interesting jobs for the day

  2. Navigate to Application Hub: Access your central dashboard

  3. Create packets: Generate Application Packets for each job

  4. Review and optimize: Improve your documents and apply

Creating Application Packets

From the Hub (Recommended)

Click the Create Packet button next to any job in the Jobs without Packets
list. This is the primary workflow for creating packets.

Bulk Creation

Click the main +Create Packet button to open a selection window where you can choose multiple saved jobs and generate packets for all of them simultaneously.

From the Job Tracker

Create packets directly from the job details panel in your Job Tracker.

Selecting a Base Resume

When creating a packet, you'll be prompted to choose which base resume to build from. If you're applying to different types of roles say, Product Designer and Product Manager, make sure to select the most relevant base resume for each. This ensures your tailored resume and cover letter are built from the right foundation for that specific position.

Inside an Application Packet

Job Match Score

The first thing you'll see in any packet is your Job Match Score — a rating that shows how well your current resume aligns with that job's requirements. Scores range from Poor (red) to Great (green).

The score summary also tells you specifically what's missing and what to work on, so you're never left guessing. We recommend reaching "Great" before applying — it meaningfully improves your chances of getting past ATS filters and in front of a recruiter.

Your Documents

Tailored Resume

An editable copy of your base resume, ready for job-specific adjustments. You can run AI Tailor directly from the packet to get targeted suggestions based on the job description, open it in the Resume Editor, or download the current version.

Cover Letter

A complete draft generated from your resume and the job posting. It's a strong starting point — but adding your own voice and a genuine reason why you're interested in the company will make it stand out.

Application Follow-Up

A pre-written email template to send after you've submitted your application. You can copy the text directly, or click the link to open it in your default email client, pre-filled and ready to go.

Optimizing Your Resume with AI Tailor

Running AI Tailor

Click Run AI Tailor from inside the packet to start a deep analysis of your resume against the job description. This takes a few minutes and surfaces specific, actionable suggestions.

Understanding Job Match Analysis

In the editor's right-hand panel, you'll see a detailed breakdown including:

Qualifications & Responsibilities Match: See which requirements are fully covered and which are missing. For example, it might note that the job requires experience with "Figma," while your resume only lists "Sketch" and "Adobe."

Keyword Match: Review key terms from the job description and see which ones are present in your resume.

By addressing the gaps identified in the analysis and implementing AI Tailor suggestions, you can significantly increase your score and create a much stronger resume.

Managing Your Packets

Once a packet is created, it moves from "Jobs without Packets" into the main Application Packets section. Each packet displays the job title, company name, packet status, Job Match Score, submission status, and the date it was created.

Packet statuses include: Applied, Needs Improvement, Review Recommended, and Ready to Submit.

Packet Actions

From any packet, you can:

  1. View Job Post: go back to the original listing to review details or submit your application.

  2. Job Details: open the Job Card to log activities, add contacts, and more.

  3. Download Packet: downloads a .zip folder named after the company and job title, keeping your materials organized and easy to submit.

  4. Mark as Submitted: tracks your submission and updates the packet status to Applied.

  5. Download & Apply:download your finalized documents and go directly to the job posting URL.

Deleting Packets and Jobs

Packets and jobs are connected, but you can delete them independently:

If you delete the job from your Job Tracker, the associated packet is permanently deleted as well. If you delete only the packet, the job stays in your Job Tracker and returns to the Application Inbox, where you can create a fresh packet whenever you're ready.

To delete a packet, click the three-dot menu on the packet and select Delete.

📓 Note: If you want to start fresh on your materials but stay interested in the role, delete only the packet. If you're no longer pursuing the job at all, delete the job from your Job Tracker.
